Disclaimer: The article below only touches the surface of the religious trial and persecution of 82 year old Swami Prakashanand Saraswati at the hands of Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Hays County Assistant District Attorney Cathy Compton. Swami Prakashanand Saraswati was accused of groping 3 white women, 15 years earlier. The three women, according to Eric Dexheimer of Austin American Statesman, were Kate Tonnessen, Vesla Tonnessen Kazimer and their best friend Shyama Rose. There was no evidence, no investigation, missing testimony, off the wall bail, no supporting witnesses, prosecution arguments based only on the religion of the defendant, conservative small town jury members were carefully instructed to use their “gut feelings” rather than the weight of evidence, demagoguery rather than relevant arguments, proxy allegations of “devil worship”, previous crying wolf to Child Protective Services that were investigated and proven to be false and a District Attorney who built her election campaign on the idea that the sole measure of success is the blind conviction rate rather than the administration of justice (which she said she will achieve by solely bringing cases to trial she knows she can win – she has only brought cases which appeal to popular prejudices).

We are the voice that Hays County Government official, Assistant District Attorney Cathy Compton doesn’t want to hear. This is a non-invasive attempt at understanding Hays County Assistant District Attorney Cathy Compton using psychoanalysis. If you have never heard of a trial in which an 82 year old, world renowned religious teacher was sentenced to 280 years in prison by a small town southern jury, on groping charges without evidence or witnesses to back up statements by 3 women (Kate Tonnessen, Vesla Tonnessen Kazimer and their best friend Shyama Rose), whose own family members and friends characterized as habitual liars; without any reason for him to even be in the court-room; without there having been any kind of investigation whatsoever; in which his expulatory evidence vanished simultaneously from the District Attorney’s office AND the sheriff’s office and no investigation was done into how that evidence went missing, rather we are told “evidence goes missing everywhere”; and in which almost the entire courtroom walked out in mass protest before the end of the sentencing phase of the trial; then you have no right to judge a trial in which all these things did happen.
There are a selection of must-read further links at the bottom. This essay is simply an attempt to understand the mind-set of a corrupt Government official, the assistant District Attorney of Hays County, Cathy Compton, who was a driving force, along with her boss, the elected Government official Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe, behind the religious harassment of the peaceful, vegetarian Hindu community in Hays County.
Faces of Deceit: Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Cathy Compton destroy video testimony to convict the innocent Swami Prakashanand Saraswati.

If the facts below sound utterly inconceivable and parodical, then you fully understand the nightmare that the Hindu community in Hays County had to experience at the hands of Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Cathy Compton. Every word is a fact, and can be verified in the “Further Reading” section or in the official court transcripts.
In fact, even the members of the audience in the courtroom sided with Swami Prakashanand Saraswati, for they too were mocked and taunted by Cathy Compton during the trial. The whole audience walked out in protest during the sentencing phase of the trial, even the very family members of accusing women and the defense lawyers. The courtroom was left almost empty except for the three accusing women, their other halves, the court officials and Karen Jonson (aka Rishika XCult, a self-admitted ghost writer of many anti-Hindu publications). It was a veritable ghost town. Court documents and new articles reveal that the sister of two of the accusing women admitted under oath that her sister, Kate Tonnessen, had blackmailed the family, and only made the accusations against Swami Prakashanand Saraswati when the family didn’t meet her selfish demands.
An account by one young audience member is as follows:
“When I read To Kill a Mockingbird in High School I thought it was a sad book and times back then were tough…I could have never forseen I would experience such a circumstance in my life. It was completely surreal, as it was happening I kept thinking this isn’t real, this can’t happen in real life.”
There are beautiful things that exist in our dreams and in trancendental worlds which we cannot see or touch but of which we do receive occasional glimpses of in this world. Ganesha, the Elephant headed Deity revered by a billion Hindus as a manifestation of God, is a beautiful symbol of how faith in the Divine can […]
